Cradle to cradle is a new sustainable practice that creates the elimination of waste in the consumption process. This idea is not revolutionary, in nomadic cultures, cradle to cradle was a given, local biological materials were used, then were discarded and were left to decompose naturally.
Modern society is so focused on consumption, and owning the “next big thing,” that sustainable practices like cradle to cradle are forgotten, or discarded.
We must remember that the resources we have are finite. What we take away from the Earth in the form of technical, man-made materials will only end up in landfills. Our resources will soon be depleted, and we will have nothing left.
To create a cradle to cradle system, we must begin to consume organic and recyclable materials.
