Blog 10 Child Understanding

On Tuesday we had the Design Slam. My group had to design a chair made for a 4 year old little girl who has problems sitting still. We thought about everything down to how a person wraps their legs around the legs of the chair as they are sitting. The chair moved from side to side to help control the hyperactive motions of the toddler. The chair was a soothing yellow that speaks to the child but yet promotes creativity and helps keep the attention of the user. The chair included a tablet so the child could set their book down and follow the words they are reading with their finger while the rest of the body is moving with the chair. I was actually quite proud of our design because I feel like we hit every key point that was needed to create a product to help children with attention and hyper activity.
