This past week we finished up the LOLA shows. We also did the second design slam. I really enjoy doing these because it makes you really think about designing and implementing the designs. This week we had to design for Jack Sparrow. He was an elderly pirate. We had to come up with a design to help with his problems getting his shirts buttoned and his shoes on. Our group did not want to have him switch to Velcro shoes. We made it were he could still have stylish boots but instead of lacing up laces, they had zippers. Our group also came up with a device where he could button his shirts instead of Velcro or pull over the head shirts. It was a unique experience. You really have to put yourself into their shoes to really do empathic design.
