Well it is a little hard to believe that my first real college class is over! I came into this class scared out of my mind thinking I was going to get wrapped up into something crazy. The first day I walked in without a clue in mind, I can’t say I’m an expert, but I’m sure I could tell you a few things that you didn’t know about sustainability and our planet!
To start, there are so many things that area problem in our society that we are aware of, but don’t actually take action of and there needs to be something done about it. Our race depends on it. If we keep polluting the one organism that houses our every need, were all screwed.
I would have to say that the biggest thing I am walking out of this class is appreciation for the world I live in and the knowledge that I need to take care of Mother Earth and not take her for granted. This class mostly was an eye opener to things I never even thought to think of.
I definitely think that the most difficult thing about this class was wrapping my mind around all of the material. At times it was so much that I simply had to take a step back to consume it all. To think that we have done such damage to the most important thing we have is a little too much for me. The only thing that gives me hope is that change is possible.
Personally I am going to only drive places I actually have to, car pool when possible, recycle, and conserve the energy I use. It may not be much coming from one person, but the more people who do their small part, the faster the healing process will begin.
