A New Way Of Thinking…

This week’s topic was Wicked Problems and Industry. A wicked problem is a problem that is difficult or impossible to solve because of incomplete, contradictory, and changing requirements that are often difficult to recognize. The use of the term “wicked” here has come to denote resistance to resolution, rather than evil. There are many ways that there are problems in the industry such as in Fashion with “fast fashion”. This class has really taught me to think about everything I do. I now recycle water bottles and don’t constantly try to buy new clothes now I try to use my clothes and get the most out of each and every single product I own. I think about others around the world who struggle to find clothes and I start to appreciate all that I have. Like the first week you don’t realize all the harmful things that can happen because of such little things like throwing a shirt out or not recycling a water bottle and how it affects everyone else besides me. Another view I got to look at was doing a walking meditation at the labyrinth. I thought this method would much more difficult to become peaceful because of the idea of walking while meditating, but I actually found it a lot easier. I think the idea of trying to make myself be still and concentrate was a lot harder than I realized and walking meditation was a lot easier than I was expected. So as this week concluded, I had a greater appreciation of life and I also now have a new way to find peace throughout a hectic new way of life without having my family to come to every night.
