Life changing class

I can not believe that this class is over. It feels like it just started. One more credit down! This class was a life changer. When I first was put into this class I had no idea what it was going to be about. I thought it was just going to be about something evil. This was half right. Knowing about wicked problems in the world and what they are doing has changed my view on the world. This is something that I have never done before. I have never just stopped and wondered “What can I do?” When we first watch The Eleventh Hour in the beginning of this class, it left me mind blown. I had no idea that our earth had that many problems and that we are doing nothing. As we went through this class it was interesting to see what the problems were. Such as climate change, global warming, and that it could even effect my major. Textiles in fashion are important and if we keep overusing we might have to cut back on the clothes we make. This would be awful.

One thing I took out of this class was meditation and mindful practice. At first I thought that meditating was just for hippies and was honestly scared if it. This changed after the first lesson on it. I realized how much this helps everyone and how you can use in everyday. I also didn’t know that there were so many different ways to use it. I thought that there was just one way. Some exercises worked better for me than others. I found it hard to sit and relax.

This weeks discussion was confusing to me. I found it hard to pick sides. I believe that the government has a more important role in our environment. They are the ones that control what we do. I believe that someways to help the earth is to make green buildings. Energy Efficient buildings will help our environment conserve more energy.

This class has been nothing but life changing. I am glad that I had to take this class in the end. It made me think and helped me know what is going on in the world. Professor Armstrong gave me a greater outlook on life and how to protect our environment.
