That’s immortality, my darling

This week the discussion was if the poor or less fortunate communities was the cause for less sustainability. The argument that I read about in the article “ Is poverty responsible for Global environmental degradation?” stated that the living environment for the poor should be lifted up by the other communities that are wealthier. The argument was made that because the poor are unable to provide for themselves and properly take care of the resources around them, the economy never gets any better.

The rest of the week consisted of over consuming and under consuming. The effects of over consuming is over buying and wasting due to constant changes in trends. The effect of under consuming is when needs can’t really be met due to the marketing value. Aesthetic Obsolescence is a solution to both problems. This is the process of creating something new with something “out of style”. Being able to design with humility is a key factor in saving resources that haven’t been used as well as saving resources that are already in the process of being used. The article being discussed makes a point about creating a design with resources that are recycled for resources that are being used for another project that has already been started. It talks against creating something that you will have to have a brand new resources in order to make. When you create something that has to have new elements of resources, you’re over using resources that don’t necessarily need to be used. The marketing business is all about getting ahead and selling the most products, but what the Production managers fail to think of is how to create something that is sustainable with the knowledge that it is going to go out of trend due to fast marketing paces. While it is more complicated to create something from a design that is already made, this will allow the industry of many different sellers to save more and waste less.

Another key point in the article was having a form of design excellence. This term is relevant to the need of being present but also thinking about the outcome of the future. A lot of the problem with the marketing business is that there are productions being made that are causing pollution. Designing with excellence is about designing it relevant to the need of being present but also thinking about the outcome of the future. A lot of the problem with the marketing business is that there are productions being made that are causing pollution. Designing with excellence is about designing it smart while still designing it trendy enough to sell.  For example, there’s a production that is going on right now that are putting out lines of tennis shoes that are being made from the plastic waste causing pollution. This is a very successful way of how to move from using non-biodegradable products that are polluting earth with eco-friendly products. It’s easy to move to the eco-friendly products but a question that is in need of an answer is what do we do with all of the products that are currently polluting and the products that are still on production that arent able to dissolve in the earth. Using that pollution and that waste to create new products is the way to solve the problem with pollution by also switching to the products that are needed to be sustainable.

I feel that this week I gave a lot of inside on the waist that is still causing the pollution.  There is a never ending cycle that is going on at this moment as far as using and wasting resources. If we all came together to tackle pollution that is one more step to being sustainable and using our resources properly. The pollution is what is damaging the resources so if that is fixed then ultimately that’s one more step to our goals. I also was able to increase my meditation times. Each meditation brings me deeper and deeper into the thought of being self observant.
