In class we read over the market readings determining whether we were apart of the “yes” side of these arguments or “no”.  During these readings Green construction costs and Benefits are talked about as well as whether or not national regulation is warranted. A question frequently talked about during these readings is whether or not the market works better than government or transitioning to sustainability. My opinion is no, but I would have to consider doing more research in order to stand firm in that opinion. The costs and benefits of green buildings are also talked about. This part was extremely interesting, considering this is not a topic that is frequently talked about. It was interesting reading about all of the green building programs today and all of their benefits to our environment and the people in it. Is there a common ground between these arguments? That is a tough question that might not be ever answered.
The current state of knowledge is a moment in history, changing just as rapidly as the state of knowledge in the past has ever changed and, in many instances, more rapidly. People often ask what are your thoughts on the current state of the world. I believe it has gotten progressively worse, but better talking about technology in today’s society. I think today’s current state will make it harder to try and solve wicked problem today and later on. The company Lululemon creates comfortable and fitting athletic clothes for men and women. This company has hit the world very hard and you can not walk through a college campus without seeing their logo on a piece of clothing located on someone’s body. The problem I am going to work on is the excess waste of clothing pieces and textile fabrics. This is a problem that is getting worse and worse over time. I plan on doing more research and continue to find a way that makes it easy and effective to recycle and stop excessive waste of clothing pieces and textile fabrics.
